If you happen to really like violent combat then check out the Rogue class. In fact Rogue is an excellent Melee DPS class, and well suited for this play style. I’ll introduce the Rogue’s talents and strengths in the WoW Rogue guide.
Let’s begin by looking at the Rogue’s strengths.
- High DPS: Meaning high damage per second, this really makes the Rogue dangerous in Melee.
- Stealth: This allows the Rogue to sneak up on enemies without being easily detected.
- Dangerous in PvP: The Rogue is a dangerous opponant in PvP. Just make sure you have the right gear especially the Resilience attribute, which will help you stay alive.
Let’s now take a look in this WoW Rogue guide at some weakness the Rogue class has.
- Target in PvP: They are often the primary target in PvP because of their dangerous reputation.
- Reduced Damage Ratio: When wielding 2 weapons the damage ratio of the off hand weapon is reduced.

The right talent build based on your unique playing style will make the game a whole lot more fun. The next section of the WoW Rogue guide look exactly at that. All the talent builds of the Rogue belond to one of the categories below.
- Assassination: We talk about the Mutilate build.
- Combat: I’ll talk specifically about Combat Swords.
- Subtlety: Here we’ll look at the Subtlety build.
The Mutilate build is based on dagger and poison, which is absolutely essential. If, however, the enemy can heal from the poison or is immune then you’ve got a problem. Here’s a list of some good talents to have for this build.

- Vile Poisoner: Increase damage of poison and Envenom ability
- Dual Wield Specialization: Another essential talent
For high, sustained DPS choose the Combat Swords build. One essential ability to have for this build is called Sinister Strike. Some additional talents to have are as follows.
- Duel Wield Specialization
- Killing Spree
- Improved Slice and Dice

The Subtlety build takes advantage of the Rogue’s unique stealth abilities. A list of additional talents that are good to have is below.

I won’t go any deeper in the WoW Rogue guide into leveling or the talents themselves but one thing to remember is that the talent builds lend themselves to your unique playing style so choose wisely.
